Maven’s is a modern traditional Jewish deli on the Providence/Pawtucket line at the Blackstone Plaza. It pays homage to the delicatessens of the past while having fun doing so!
“This is my passion,” says Sugarman, a serial entrepreneur who lives with his family in Cranston. “I love delis. I love the history of delis. Delis are embassies for our culture. I want to fully commit to it.”
Maven's Delicatessen just opened in December 2023, but is an instant hit. Sugarman knows the niche, and besides his personal lifetime of experience, he traveled to many of the country's most acclaimed examples of the genre to see what they were doing right.

PAWTUCKET - In the span of 30 minutes last Friday at Maven's Delicatessen, a half-dozen people came in to ask the owner and executive chef either whether they could buy a sandwich, or when the new New York-style Jewish deli will open.
Most tender, melt in your mouth pastrami and corned beef I have ever tasted! Dare I say, better than Katz. Friendly staff, excellent atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
Everything about Mavens was worth the trip! I went for breakfast and ended up having lunch. The best pastrami sandwich since my visits to NYC. Breakfast service only until 11:00.
Maven's was incredible! Not only was the atmosphere and service fantastic, the food was authentic and delicious! My children and I quote said it was the “best bagel and lox and chocolate chip pancake EVER!” Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and a beautiful presentation! From the latkes to the blintzes, just wonderful! We also got 2 loaves of Challah to go, Matzo Ball soup and the pickle platter which were gone before the day ended! We cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend Maven's! Enjoy!
