Set in a convivial and energetic atmosphere, Maven’s is the restaurant that moves forward the Jewish cuisine while incorporating some new items that they hope will be a part of the culture and tradition of the future.

Jason Sugarman

Founder

Jason started at Johnny Rockets in 2000, climbing swiftly to General Manager by 2004. He excelled in all areas, mastering costs and labor.

In 2007, he opened Cranston's Johnny Rockets, his first partnership, refining layout and design.

From 2010, as Area Manager, he handled RI's operations and union construction. In 2015, he became Regional Manager for RI/MA. In 2020, he became COO, navigating COVID challenges.

Besides Johnny Rockets, Jason owns The Original Soupman since 2011 and Pokeworks since 2018, opening successful locations even during the pandemic.

He's on Johnny Rockets' Marketing Leadership Council and Pokeworks' Franchise Advisory Board. His innovations earned TV exposure.

A Bryant University graduate, Jason boasts over 20 years in the industry.

Jaime D’Oliveira

Culinary Director

Jaime, from Providence, RI, embraces a culinary journey rooted in his French and Portuguese heritage. With 43 years in hospitality, including a Chef role at Alforno's Restaurant and national recognition for Angels, his culinary expertise shines.

He expanded his impact with Rare Hospitality, overseeing Capital Grille Steakhouse openings and excelling as Corporate Executive Chef. 2004 he founded Providence Hospitality Group, earning acclaim for The Mills Tavern and Red Stripe Brassieres. Jaime's dynamic career, marked by accolades and a passion for healthy, creative food, now drives his pursuit of new opportunities in the hospitality industry.

Scott Taylor

Bakery Director

Scott Taylor is a dedicated culinary professional with over two decades' experience managing and baking/cooking in major cities across the Northeast. Having studied baking and pastry at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, he has served as a baker at Zingerman's bakehouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan and as general manager including Moody's Delicatessen in Boston's Copley,Square, Aquavit New York, NY, L'ETAGE and Beau Monde in Philadelphia to name a few. He is excited to share his signature carrot cake, bagels, cookies, and more with the guests at Maven's.
Robert Cirillo

Executive Chef

Beginning his culinary career in at the Capital Grille in Providence, RI, Chef Robert then moved to Memphis, TN. There, he was the executive chef at the Westin and created Westin's restaurant concept Blue. During his tenure at the Westin, Robert executed the Grand Chapitre dinner for the Chaine des Rotisseurs. He was selected as one of 4 chefs to each lead a team of 10 cooks and to execute dinner for former President George W. Bush and the First Lady under the guidance of French Master Chef Jose Gutierrez. In partnership with the NBA Memphis Grizzlies franchise, Chef Robert prepared meals for NBA players and served as Kobe Bryant's personal chef for the week while he was a guest at the hotel.

After leaving Memphis and returning back to Providence, Chef Robert has been the executive chef at Parkside, Siena and now Maven’s Delicatessen.

From the moment you sit your tuchus in Maven’s, it is the mission of Jason Sugarman, the founder, to have his customers surrounded by the nostalgic smells and tastes that connect memories of the past while creating new ones. Now that’s something special!
